Healing of solar keratoses on the head after application of ingenol mebutate gel – case report

Solar keratosis is a frequently occurring epithelial dysplasia where atypical keratinocytes proliferate. It is located in places often exposed to UV radiation, more often in people of phototype I and II. Solar keratosis can develop into squamous cell carcinoma. The treatment is surgical, physical and topical. Ingenol-mebutate gel therapy is new topical treatment now.

Patient with lung metastases of malignant melanoma who have long-term survival in combination therapy BRAF and MEK inhibitors

Targeted treatment of BRAF and MEK inhibitors and targeted antibody treatment against immune response checkpoints showed a significant advance in the treatment of generalized malignant melanoma against previously used chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The results of the clinical studies confirmed a markedly higher response rate and an increase in overall survival in patients treated with both types of this medications.

Patient with brain metastases of malignant melanoma a long‑term surviving with BRAF and MEK inhibitor in combination therapy

In recent years, there has been a significant shift in the treatment of generalized malignant melanoma due to the introduction of targeted BRAF and MEK inhibitors in patients with BRAF mutation in tumor cells and modern immunotherapy using antibodies against immune response checkpoints. The results of clinical trials have confirmed a significantly higher response rate and an increase in overall survival in patients treated with both types of medication.
