Cervical cancer screening and the role of HPV

Human papillomaviruses (HPV) are the most important causative factor in the development of cervical cancer, but also other malignant and benign lesions of the female and male genitalia and partly other areas of the transition of the squamous and cylindrical epithelium. Preventing the acquisition of this infection is, in turn, the primary prevention of all of these lesions. The basis of secondary prevention, which is currently created only for the most common of the lesions cervical cancer is the early detection of cellular changes or detection of HPV infection, or a combination of both.

Menopause hormone therapy in female cancer survivors

Menopause hormone therapy is the best therapy for acute climacteric syndrome, osteoporosis' prevention and urogenital atrophy. It is absolutely safety in personal history of cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, hematologic malignancies, local malignant melanoma, colorectal cancer and liver cancer. It is strictly contraindicated in cases history of breast cancer, endometrial stromal sarcoma, meningioma and estrogen receptor positive gastric and bladder cancer.

Ten years of human papillomavirus vaccination and gender issue

Human papillomaviruses (HPV) are the most important causes of cervical cancer but also other carcinomas and non-malignant lessions especially of women's and men's genital area. But not only. Prevention of HPV infection is the primary prevention of all HPV-associated lessions. Rules of safety sex are very important but HPV could be transfer also by noncoital activities. Ten years ago clinical history of HPV vaccination has started by quadrivalent vaccine. In 2015 it was graduated by nonavalent vaccine. All HPV vaccines are characterized by high efficacy against including types of HPV and also high safety.
